The 23rd Acrylic Creative Design Contest - Event Briefing

We organized a total of twenty-one acrylic briefings and one acrylic fabrication factory visit at various universities and colleges across Taiwan during September and October. These events aimed to provide students in design-related disciplines with a deeper understanding of acrylic. The activities included presentations on acrylic materials and their characteristics, applications, acrylic fabrication techniques and machinery, as well as discussions on the sustainable circularity of acrylics. During the events, we showcased various acrylic materials and products, allowing students to explore the types and characteristics of acrylic up close. 2023 Friendly Softball Match

"In the scorching August, KMC, CHIMEI, and Guanya jointly held the first post-pandemic friendly softball match at the CHIMEI Baseball Stadium. For this game, colleagues had practiced in their spare time, despite the limited training sessions. Everyone enthusiastically participated, showcasing their unwavering spirit to fight till the end. The event concluded amidst lively laughter, cheers, and applause. Regardless of the outcome, everyone had a great time and played with great enthusiasm, eagerly looking forward to the next game to continue the battle."

The 22nd Acrylic Creative Design Contest- Finalist Works Presentation and Award Ceremony

On May 27, 2023, the 22nd Acrylic Creative Design Competition Finalist Works Presentation and Award Ceremony was held at Yunlin University of Science and Technology. The event gathered over two hundred attendees, including acrylic manufacturers, designers, teachers, and students from all over the island. The event featured not only presentations and exhibitions of the finalists' works, award ceremonies for winning entries, and insightful comments from judging representatives, Professor Fang Yumin from the Department of Industrial Design at National United University and Mr. Cai Yuan, Chairman of the Taiwan Color Marketing Group, were also invited to deliver talks on the topics of 'The Impact of Generative AI on Industrial Design' and ‘Seeing the Future in Colors,' respectively. They shared new insights and trends in design, encompassing artificial intelligence technology and color theory for the attending audience.

2023 Ladies Lunch on Women’s Day

On the special occasion of International Women's Day, the company shows appreciation for the hard work of female colleagues by hosting a ladies lunch, inviting all female colleagues to come together to share a happy meal and enjoy each other’s company, spending a unique and special female-only lunch date. .

The 22nd Acrylic Creative Design Contest - Prototyping Instructions Seminar

Seminars for the 22nd Acrylic Creative Design Contest were held in the North, Central, and South regions of Taiwan on 16-18 Jan 2023. We invited experienced product designers to provide guidance and suggestions for each shortlisted work, assisting in gaining a better understanding of acrylic properties and relevant fabrications during the prototyping process. This can lead to their works with improved quality and completeness for the best results in the final selection.

Year 2022 - Senior Employees Award

The company awards commemorative gold coins every year to employees who have completed 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service to express gratitude for their hard work.

2022 Year-end Banquet

Due to the impact of the epidemic, the annual year-end banquet that had been suspended for two years was resumed this year. KMC held the 2022 year-end banquet on January 10, 2023 at Marriott Hotel, Kaohsiung. General Manager, Mr. Huang, expressed his gratitude for the hard work of every colleague and encouraged everyone to work harder in the new year. In addition to enjoying delicious food, colleagues also enjoyed the live music performances and exciting lucky draw during the dinner. Many colleagues went on stage to sing as well, and the entire event ended successfully with everyone's enthusiastic applause.

The 22nd Acrylic Creative Design Contest - Preliminary Selection

The Acrylic Creative Design Contest conducted its preliminary selection on 24 December 2022, with 9 judges (including 5 well-experienced designers and 4 representatives from acrylic industry). There were 820 participants, with 727 entries submitted, and 674 design drawings ultimately submitted. The judging process went on three rounds of scoring and discussion, resulting in the selection of 47 shortlisted works, plus 16 works shortlisted for the special award from the manufacturers, for a total of 63 shortlisted works.

The 34th Taipei Building Show

The 2022 "Taipei Building Show", which is the largest building materials exhibition in Taiwan, was held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from 8 December to 11 December. This year's exhibition features the three major characteristics of acrylic- Clarity, Health, and Circularity as the main theme. The exhibition products include anti-glare acrylic sheet, acrylic noise barrier sheet with/without nylon stripe embedded, acrylic LED letters, marine grade acrylic sheet, acrylic bathtub, acrylic solid sinks, seamless cemented acrylic aquarium sheet, acrylic glazing, acrylic staircase, art embedded acrylics, functional acrylic sheets with flame retarded & solar IR-cut and acrylic tube with scrapes etc.
